Compact transformer substations from 25 to 4000 kVA for voltage up to 10 kV

Compact pre-fabricated modular transformer substation is a heat-insulated building, intended for receiving, converting and distributing of 3-phase AC power (50/60 Hz) at power facilities, oil and gas industry and other objects with solidly earthed or isolated neutral on the low voltage side

Block-modular complete transformer substations

Buildings of compact pre-fabricated modular transformer substations are manufactured according to individual orders, which specify the type, quantity and relative positions of the installed equipment, available auxiliary rooms, the overall dimensions of the building and rooms, requirements for in-house needs (heating, ventilation, lighting, etc.), color scheme and other technical characteristics.

Detailed information

Technical data of block-modular complete transformer substations (CTS)

CTS is operated outside and has the following parameters of resistance to external environmental factors:

  • the temperature of ambient air from minus 60 to plus 40 °С;

  • the atmospheric pressure is in the range of 86.6-106.7 kPa;
  • resistance of CTS in ice conditions with ice thickness up to 20 mm and wind speed up to 15 m/s (wind velocity pressure is 146 Pa), and in the absence of ice - with wind speed up to 36 m/s (wind velocity pressure up to 800 Pa);
  • seismic resistance of the building structure is determined by the design assignment (up to 9 points according to SNiP II-7-81), in general it is not seismic resistant.

CTS should not be operated:

  • in explosive atmosphere, as well as in the atmosphere containing current-conducting dust, acrid vapors and gases destroying metal and insulation (the atmosphere of type II according to GOST 15150-69);
  • in areas exposed to strong shaking, vibration and knocks;
  • on transportable mining and other installations.

The structure of the building provides protection of internal premises from precipitation intensity up to 5 mm/min.

The category of the building is B4 according to article 27 of the Federal Law dated 22.07.2008 No. 123-F3 on the Technical Regulations on Fire Safety Requirements.

Fire resistance degree of the block-box is II, III or IV according to article 30 and 87 of the Federal Law dated 22.07.2008 No. 123-F3 on the Technical Regulations on Fire Safety Requirements.

The class of structural fire danger is C0 according to article 30 and 87 of the Federal Law dated 22.07.2008 No. 123-F3 on the Technical Regulations on Fire Safety Requirements. The class of functional fire safety is F.5.1 according to article 32 of the Federal law from 22.07.2008 № 123-F3 on the Technical regulations on fire safety requirements.

The full designated service period of the building's structural elements is 30 years, including 10 years before overhaul. At the same time, the average service period of engineering equipment shall not be less than 10 years.

The nominal current of high voltage device bushings and main busbars of low voltage switchgear devices complies with the nominal current of the installed transformer.

The bushings and main busbars of the CTS allow emergency overloads of 30% over the nominal current of the power transformer for a duration of no more than three hours per day, if the long-term prior load was not more than 70% of the nominal current of the transformer.

At the Customer's request it is possible to complete the CTS with cabinets of HVD and lead-in cabinets of LVSD for a current of 1.4 times the nominal current of the transformer installed in the CTS (overload time of no more than two hours). In the overload operation the heating temperature of the contact and elements of the LVSD structure is not standardized, but the normal operation of the CTS is guaranteed after the overload is eliminated.

The busbars of the individual branches from the main busbars shall be permitted to be loaded for a long time with a current equal to the nominal current of the breaker.

The group branches from the busbars shall be permitted to be loaded for a long time with a current equal to 70% of the sum of the nominal currents connected to the breakers, but not exceeding the nominal current of the main busbars.

The conductivity of the LVSD neutral busbar complies with 50 % of the nominal current of the power transformer. On customer request, a neutral busbar with a conductivity of 75% of the nominal current of the power transformer shall be installed.
